Amyl and The Sniffers Frontwoman Files Lawsuit Against Photographer after alleging that images from a high-profile magazine shoot were sold without her consent. Amy Taylor, the outspoken and unapologetic frontwoman of Amyl and The Sniffers, has taken legal action against award-winning American photographer Jamie Nelson, accusing her of unauthorized commercial use of photographs.

According to court documents filed in a California district court, Taylor’s legal team claims Nelson improperly monetized images originally shot for Vogue Portugal. The photographs, part of a series titled Champagne Problems, were published in July 2025 and quickly circulated across social media platforms.

Despite the editorial nature of the original shoot, Taylor alleges that Nelson later offered fine art prints for sale through her personal website, with prices reportedly ranging from $1,500 to $3,600, discounted from an initial $4,000 listing. The series is described on Nelson’s site as a “visual dialogue between two kindred spirits,” celebrating defiance, glamour, and authenticity.

The shoot itself took place at Nelson’s so-called “iconic vintage pink palace” in Los Angeles, capturing Taylor’s raw punk energy and unmistakable Australian edge. However, the dispute centers on what Taylor claims she never agreed to: the commercial resale of her likeness.

As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the lawsuit includes excerpts from a letter sent by the band’s manager, Simone Ubaldi of Sundowner Artists, directly addressing the issue. In the letter, Ubaldi makes it clear that Taylor did not consent to the sale of prints featuring her image.

“I cannot be clearer about this — Ms. Taylor does not want you to sell images of her face or body as fine art prints,” the letter reportedly states. It further adds that had the intention to sell the photos been disclosed beforehand, the shoot would never have taken place.

At the time of reporting, Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Taylor and Nelson for comment, but no official response has been issued.

Nelson, meanwhile, is a well-established name in the fashion and music worlds. Her work has appeared in major publications such as Vogue, Playboy, and Vanity Fair, and she has photographed artists including Halsey, Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani, Megan Thee Stallion, and Maren Morris.

The lawsuit arrives during a career-defining moment for Amyl and The Sniffers. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s most explosive rock acts, the band has just wrapped up a massive year that included a standout performance at Glastonbury Festival, a nomination at the BRIT Awards, and a clean sweep at the ARIA Awards, where they took home four wins.

They also earned their first-ever nomination at the Grammy Awards, landing in the Best Rock Performance category for their blistering track “U Should Not Be Doing That.”

Beyond the band, Taylor has expanded her creative reach with a foray into electronic music, collaborating with Fred Again on the track “you’re a star.” Amyl and The Sniffers also joined rock legends AC/DC on their Australian stadium tour, a moment Taylor memorably described as a “bogan Christmas.”

The tour wrapped on Dec. 18 at Suncorp Stadium, where Taylor hailed AC/DC as “the best band in the f—ing world,” capping off a year that cemented both her and the band as global rock powerhouses.
