Metallica has announced that its record-breaking M72 World Tour will go on for a fourth year. The tour will include 16 shows in Europe and the UK in May, June, and July 2026.
On May 30, at 10 a.m. local time, tickets for the single-night shows and the newly announced No Repeat Weekends will go on sale. Fan club pre-sales start on May 27 at 11 a.m. in your area.
About four million people have seen Metallica play at M72 since it opened in April 2023 in Amsterdam. Fans and critics alike are still amazed by M72. It has been called “a stone-cold stunner of a show” (Detroit News), “triumphant” (Kerrang! ), “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages” (Los Angeles Times), and “an altogether life-affirming experience” (Billboard).
The M72 World Tour’s schedule for 2026 will keep the sacred No Repeat Weekend custom alive. Each night of the two-show stands will have a completely different setlist and support acts. The band will play its first shows in Frankfurt, Germany, and Dublin, Ireland, since its 2009 World Magnetic Tour at Deutsche Bank Park May 22 and 24 and Aviva Stadium June 19 and 21. Metallica will also make its long-awaited return to Budapest, Hungary, on June 11 and 13 at Puskas Arena and to London, England, on July 3 and 5 at London Stadium.
The full tour production with its huge in-the-round stage will be shown in a number of places during M72 2026. These include Athens (May 9), Bucharest (May 13), Chorzów (May 19), Zurich (May 27), Berlin (May 30), Bologna (June 3), Glasgow (June 25), and Cardiff (June 28).
Gojira, Pantera, Knocked Loose, and Avatar will all be on M72’s European and UK tour in 2025. Details are given below.
As always, the band’s All Within My Hands foundation will give some of the money from each ticket sale to local causes. All Within My Hands was started in 2017 as a way to thank the communities that have supported Metallica over the years. Since then, it has raised more than $20 million and given over $11.4 million in grants to career and technical education programs, such as the groundbreaking Metallica Scholars Initiative, which is now in its seventh year. It has also given over $7.4 million to fight food insecurity and more than $4.7 million to disaster relief efforts.
