Born as Christopher Michael Gaines in Baton Rouge, LA, ILL Ruckus moved to Maryland with his family at a young age. But even as a kid, he was always musically inclined. He would memorize rap songs and recite them as they were playing, and before long, he was writing his own rhymes and creating his own style.
